In my last post I talked about mlm recruiting.  As I am sure you know, it is kind of hard to recruit, or sign up, people into your mlm business if you do not have any leads.  But, where do you get those leads.  Even more important to most people is where can you get cheap, or even free, mlm leads.

I decided to start off teaching you about cheap lead generation because most people who are just getting started with online marketing are limited to a very small advertising budget.  In fact, a very large percentage of new marketers will get started by using safe lists, list builders, and free traffic exchanges so I want to discuss those first.

First of all let me answer the most important question.  Can you generate quality, targeted leads using the free advertising methods mentioned in the previous paragraph?  The answer is a conditional yes.  The condition being you must use the free advertising sources the correct way.

So how do you use these sources the correct way?  You have to get into the mind of the thousands of other people using these free advertising sources.  Why?  Because those thousands of other people are the ones you are going to be presenting your advertising message to.

Have you ever asked yourself why all of these people are reading emails and clicking links to earn credits?  Have you ever asked yourself why all of these people are surfing the free traffic exchanges to earn credits? If you think about it, it is not that hard to figure out.  They are doing for the same reason you are.  So they can advertise their website, product, or business opportunity.  So what are the odds that these people are going to be open and actually looking to purchase a product or join another opportunity?  I can guarantee you it is not very likely with one exception.

You see I just told you that these people are building up credits in order to advertise and generate leads for their business.  So the one thing that will grab the attention of these folks is an offer to show them how to generate more free or low cost leads!  That is about the only offer you will every want make to safe list subscribers and free traffic exchange surfers.

If you are following my advice and creating your own marketing system, or even if you have signed up for a turnkey marketing system, you should have tons of tips and advice on how to generate low cost and free leads.

Offer to give your safe list readers and traffic exchange surfers these tips and advice in exchange for their name and email address and then you will truly be generating cheap mlm leads.  Keep providing these leads with more tips, advice, and training and a lot of them will soon turn into your business associates or at the least, an occasional affiliate commission.

Just in case you still do not get it, let me state it as plainly as I can.  Do NOT waste your time directly promoting a product or business opportunity to safe lists and traffic exchanges.  Your conversion rates will be almost zero most of the time.  Instead, offer something of VALUE to the members of safe lists and traffic exchanges.  Then, as you capture their names and email addresses, you will be building your own list of targeted leads!

Even the word “recruiting” can have a negative connotation.  It makes me think of going out and trying to get people to do something they do not want to do.  However, for you to be successful in an MLM business, you do have to “recruit” people into your downline.

Fortunately, the days of making a list of friends and family, trying to meet strangers, and making cold calls to try and recruit someone into your business do not have to haunt us anymore.

In fact, from this day forward, I do not want you to even refer to it as recruiting anymore.
Thanks to the Internet, getting people to sign up into your MLM business is more of sorting process than it is a recruiting process.  At least it is when you have a good mlm marketing system.

If you are using a good marketing system, you will actually be having people coming to you wanting to join your business.  You won’t have to recruit anyone.

This is possible because the right marketing system does almost all the work for you.  With the right marketing system, all you need to do is generate traffic to your lead capture pages and the system will take care of rest.

The system is designed to take the people who submit their information and run them through a filtering process.  It does this by automatically supplying information about you and your company.  It offers them with valuable content you provide that will help them build their MLM business.  This helps you to build a relationship with these people which increases their desire to work with you.  Because of this relationship building, you don’t have to chase and beg people to join your business.  In fact, it is usually the other way around.  You will have people chasing you down and contacting you asking to join your business and for your help.

This process really does work; but, in order for it to work you need to be using the right marketing system.

Recruiting people into your MLM business does not have to be the dreaded chore it once was.  It can actually be quite enjoyable once you start doing it the right way.  Just to make sure you have not missed it, the right way is using a proven MLM marketing system!

If you want to be successful building your MLM business online, you will need a marketing system.  That’s what I intend to teach you how to have on this blog; but, there are people all over the internet offering you proven mlm marketing systems that practically guarantee you overnight success.

They show you numerous examples and testimonials on their website to prove to you just how awesome their system is.  Have you ever noticed though, that they all have disclaimers on their sites somewhere stating that there are no guarantees that you will obtain the same level of success using their system.  Maybe you have never noticed these disclaimers before because they’re usually tucked away in the fine print somewhere on the site.  They’re usually preceded by some statement about how they have to put this disclaimer on their website because of legal requirements, which of course is true.  But, it kind of implies that you don’t have to believe what the disclaimer states because after all, it’s just there for legal reasons.

The truth is, if you’re looking at a marketing system that has been around for a year or more, you more than likely WILL NOT achieve the same results as the creator of the system and those who started using the system shortly after it was first created.  Do you know why this is?

Let me explain.  You see, I’ve been doing internet marketing for years and systems always follow the same course after they’re created.  When first created, a new marketing system (and I’m referring to turnkey marketing systems that charge a membership fee) is usually promoted heavily by the creator(s) which generally creates a high amount of success for them.  After all, everyone’s looking for the latest, greatest system to make them rich, right?

Then, the initial group of people who sign up and start using the system usually have a considerable amount of success too.  That’s where all those wonderful testimonials come from.  But then something happens.  More and more people start using the system and the results start dropping off.  Do you know why this is?  It’s because as more and more people start using the system, the market gets saturated with ads, emails, and all the other various promotion methods all leading to the same mlm lead capture pages being used by everyone.  So as the number of members subscribing to the marketing system grows, the results everyone receive starts dropping off until there you are promoting another system that just isn’t giving you the results you need.

So am I saying don’t use a marketing system?  Absolutely not!  What I am saying is that if at all possible, you need to create your own marketing system.  It’s really not that hard to do and I’m going to show you how to do it.

If you just don’t have the time or patience to build your own system, you can use one of the turnkey systems out there but you need to at least do some research before picking the one you want to use.  You need to find a system that allows you to customize as much of the system as possible.  At the very least, you need to be able to totally customize your lead capture pages.  I explained why earlier; but, just to remind you, as more and more people start using the same system you’re using, your target audience is going to start seeing the same lead capture pages everywhere they look.  When this happens, the effectiveness and the conversion rate of those lead capture pages are going to be less and less.

Don’t give up hope though.  As I said earlier, I’m going to show you how to create your own mlm marketing system.  I’m also going to show you how to make the right turnkey marketing system perform better for you.  I’m also in the process of writing an ebook that will give you a step-by-step process for creating your own marketing system.  I’ll let you know when it’s available and the best part is that it’s going to be FREE to my loyal readers.

In this post I’m going to talk about lead capture.  Now I know you’re probably thinking I haven’t even taught you how to generate leads yet.  That’s because if you don’t have a way to capture your lead’s information, at the least their name and email address, then you don’t need to be generating leads yet!  In fact, I will probably teach you almost everything else about setting up your marketing system before I start teaching you about lead generation.

OK, so how do we capture mlm leads and why do we want to?

The reason we want to capture our lead’s information is so we can keep in touch with that lead through email and/or telephone in order to build a relationship with that lead.  You see it is a sad fact that 95-99% of the leads who see your mlm business opportunity will not join your business!  Now let me ask you, “Do you want to just disregard that 95-99% who said no?”  Here’s why.  In case you haven’t figured it out there are literally thousands and thousands of other people promoting the exact same mlm business opportunity as you.  So it doesn’t matter how great you product is or how awesome your compensation plan is because your prospect is hearing the same thing from thousands of others.

So why would someone decide to join your organization?  They won’t unless you either just get lucky or if you set yourself apart from the crowd.  By building a relationship over time with your prospect you’re going to show them that you have more to offer than the other people.  You have to provide your prospect with valuable information that will benefit them whether they join your company or not.  You have to show them that you are truly concerned about their success in mlm and that you’re the person who is there to lead them on their path to success.  You need to get to know them as a person and not just as a prospect.  Find out their goals in life as well as their fears and concerns.  In other words, become their friend and mentor.

You can’t do any of those things if you’re not capturing your lead’s contact information.  So how do you capture mlm leads?

I won’t go into a lot of detail here because I’m sure most of you already know about lead capture but here’s a quick overview.

Instead of sending your leads directly to your website you want to send them to what’s known as a lead capture page.  A lead capture page is basically a small one page website that contains a form that the prospect can use to enter their name and email address(or more information if you choose) in order to request more information about your opportunity.  Once they click the button to submit their information it will be captured by an autoresponder that will allow you to follow-up with that person and build that relationship we talked about in an earlier post.

There’s a lot that goes into creating a quality mlm lead capture page that will increase your opt-in rate so I’ll leave that to another post.

One note, your mlm company may provide you with a company hosted lead capture system.  You will want to create your own system and use it because all the leads you capture will be yours forever regardless if your current company fails or if you decide you want to switch to a different company.

This is a short post to address a question I’ve received from my friends and associates quite a few times.

I’ve been asked why I don’t write an eBook that goes into great detail about setting up your own mlm marketing system.  Well, there are a couple of answers to that question.

Firstly, I am in the process of doing just that but to get a finished book that covers every detail of creating a marketing system is very time consuming.  So it’s going to be a while before it becomes available.

Secondly, I’ve already provided you with a short but quite detailed step by step guide to creating your own marketing system.  All you need to do is click on the “MLM Marketing System” tab at the top of the page.  This page will give you the most important steps you need to take to create your own marketing system.

I admit that it just covers the basics and doesn’t go into some of the details about things like all of the various marketing methods that are available.  That is why I provide you with links to a couple of informational products that are already available and provide some of the detailed information you need about specific aspects of a marketing system.

I also plan on discussing a lot of this detailed information in my blog posts.  You just need to stick with me long enough to learn all of these details.  You have to look at this like going to school.  You didn’t learn everything you needed to learn in 1 year.  It took you many years and you used many different sources of information to learn what you needed to learn in order to graduate.

I promise you that it won’t take years to learn how to create your own marketing system.  In fact, it shouldn’t even take you months.  It will take some time and education though.  That’s why when I recommend a specific eBook, course, or tool you should understand the reason I recommend these things.  The reason is because I know those things are going to get you where you want to be more easily and quickly.

I’ve got a lot of great detailed training lined up for you so just hang in there.  If you’ve got time to spare then I strongly suggest using it to further your Internet marketing education.

The thing to remember though, is that if you will just take action by doing everything listed on my “MLM Marketing System” page you are going to be well on your way to a successful online business.

If you’ve been around MLM very long, I’m sure you’ve heard that around 97% of network marketers fail.  I don’t want to sound like a preacher of doom and gloom, but I personally believe the percentage is even higher than that.  The truth is it doesn’t really matter how many people fail in their MLM business.  What matters is whether or not there is anything you can do to get into the small group of people who are successful.

Fortunately, there is a way for you to get into the group of people now commonly referred to as “the top 3% .”  All it takes is for you to get the MLM training that shows you how to do it.  Now before you start thinking to yourself, “I’ve heard this all before”, let me explain.

There are extremely different kinds of MLM training.  There’s the training you receive from your sponsor which is most likely just the repetition of what their sponsor taught them.  There’s also the training that most network marketing companies provide promising you huge success if you just do what they tell you to do. Lastly there’s the advice of the so called “gurus” who promise you huge success if you just buy and follow the advice in their “amazing” eBook.

Well, I’m here to tell you that almost all of the training discussed in the paragraph above is worthless and will only help you to be in the group that fails in network marketing.  The only training or advice that you need to be using is training that is coming from marketers who have made it into that top 3%.  The people who don’t care whether you join their MLM opportunity or a different one.  The people who want to help you succeed just for the satisfaction of seeing you succeed.  They can have this attitude because they already know if they help enough other people to make money, they’re going to make money too.  Basically, the statement that you will reap what you sew has been proven to be true.

I know it’s hard to believe but there are people like that around.  I know because I’m one of them.  I also know because I have several friends who feel exactly the same way as I do and these friends are all top earners in their respective mlm companies.

So now let me teach you what possibly is the most important things you need to know about mlm training that can lead you to the success you are looking for.

If you’re being trained to make a list of your friends, family, and basically everyone you know so that you can approach them about joining your mlm business, you need to run away from the person giving you that training immediately.  What that person is teaching you does not work!

If you’re being trained to go on the internet and purchase mlm leads and send those leads to your company replicated website or even a company replicated lead capture and follow-up system, stop immediately!  Following this strategy will cause you to go broke before you ever make a dime of profit.

The training I’m going to be providing you will teach you how to generate as many as 50 – 100 or more quality targeted leads per day.  You can do this using some paid methods if you have the marketing budget, and by using numerous free methods if you don’t have the marketing budget.  I’m going to show you how to make those leads your leads and not your company’s leads.  I’m going to show you how to build a relationship with those leads so they want to do business with you!  I’m going to teach you why you absolutely have to create a sales funnel to run your leads through.  It’s not just so you can make some extra money.  It’s to provide your leads with the quality training and tools they will need to be successful just like you.

If you use a system like I’m going to teach you, your downline will begin to grow at an incredible pace.  This is not only because you have a system that actually works for you but also one that can be duplicated and used by everyone in your downline.

I’m telling you right now that the the proper training is where you need to start and that’s what I intend to provide you with over the coming weeks.

MLM is the one industry that has allowed more everyday people to build million dollar businesses than probably any other.  Yet, it’s a known fact that about 97% of the people who start an mlm business are never going to make a dime.  In fact, they’ll probably lose money.

If you’ve been involved with mlm (also known as network marketing) for some time now you probably have your doubts.  You probably haven’t made more than a couple hundred dollars in mlm.  So how could you possibly create a 5 to 6 figure monthly income?

Well, that’s what you’re going to find out if you stick with me.  I’m going to teach you what works and maybe even more importantly, what doesn’t work.   You’re probably wondering what the catch is.  Why would anyone teach someone such valuable information for free?

The answer to that is really simple and actually this will be your first lesson so listen up!

People tend to do business with people that they like and trust.  Especially when it comes to mlm, people want to work with people who are leaders in the field.  They want to work with people who can provide them with expert information and training.  They usually don’t want to work with someone who is trying to make a buck off of them every time they turn around.  So I know if I provide you with the information and training you need and want, eventually some of you will want to build a business with me.  I don’t have to chase and beg people to work with me because the ones I want to work with come to me.

I can hear you saying, “Rodney, I’m not an expert so how can I provide the things that people are looking for?”  The short answer is, “You become an expert.”  It’s not that hard to do.  You just need to educate yourself about this industry.  You learn everything you can from people like myself and other industry leaders until eventually you will be an expert.  The best part is it won’t take long to do if you’re willing to invest a little time each day.

I will teach you everything I can on this blog but there’s no way I can teach you everything there is to know.  So here’s one last very important bit of advice.  Invest a little money in good education.  Stop wasting money on every new marketing system or money making plan that comes down the pike.  If you haven’t figured it out yet, the majority of these marketing systems do not work nearly as well as the creators claim they do.  I’ll explain why in a future post.

The best thing to do is to create your own marketing system and I’m going to show you how to do it.  If you absolutely feel that you just don’t have the time or ability to create your own marketing system don’t give up hope.  There are one or two good turnkey mlm marketing systems out there and if you want to go that route just let me know and I’ll give you my recommendations.
