Creating Your Own MLM Marketing System
Here is a quick step by step guide to setting up your mlm marketing system. Although I primarily created this system to promote an mlm company, it can also be used successfully in affiliate marketing as well.
Step 1 – Domain Registration
The first thing you will want to do is pick out and register your own domain name. What name to use can be decided by many factors but I recommend registering your name first. The reason for this is because you are going to be educating yourself and eventually branding yourself as a leader and an expert in this field. By doing this you will eventually reach a point where people will recognize your name and associate it with someone they should listen to.
So go to GoDaddy.com right now and register your first domain right now. It will be the best $10 you will ever spend. If your name is John Doe try to shoot for www. johndoe.com but if that is not available you might need to get a little creative. Try different variations all containing your name. One excellent variation is to add the word blog after your name because in case you don’t know, I’ll tell your right now that a blog is going to be one of your most important marketing tools. So consider registering www.johndoesblog.com. I hope I don’t need to explains this but I’m going to anyway just to be on the safe side. Don’t register the name John Doe. Register your actual name!
Step 2 – Setup Web Hosting
The next thing you need to do is sign up for a web hosting service. There are lots of choices when it come to web hosting but I recommend either Host Gator or Blue Host. There a couple of reasons I’m partial to these two companies.
First, they are both reasonably priced and I have been very happy with their service. The other reason is because both of these companies offer a way to quickly and automatically install a Wordpress® Blog on your site. Again, this is something you are going to definitely want to do because when done correctly, you can generate large amounts of targeted visitors with a blog.
I almost forgot something. Both of these hosting companies allow you to host unlimited domains without paying extra hosting fees. This is very important because I can guarantee you that you will eventually have more than one website. So go to either Host Gator or Blue Host right now and get your hosting package. If you purchase a year’s worth of hosting it will cost you less than $100 which is dirt cheap for quality hosting.
Step 3 – Education
You could really start with this step if you wanted to but now is a good time as well. Actually the next step in creating your system would be to start setting up your lead capture pages but you need to do something else first.
If you remember, you’re going to be educating yourself so you can become an expert in this industry and therefore attract people who will want to work with you. The best teacher I know is Mike Dillard.
Mike has several different courses but I highly recommend starting out with his Magnetic Sponsoring Course. It’s very reasonably priced, around $40 I think, and it does an excellent job of teaching you about attraction marketing which is what this system is based on and offers you the greatest likelihood of success.
This is kind of jumping ahead, but if you are one of the many people who want to build an online business but you’re limited on marketing funds, I would also suggest getting Mike’s book, “Building on a Budget”. It will teach you lots of free and low cost methods of building your online business. Of course I’m going to be teaching you some of these things too but Mike is able to go a little more in depth on the subject because he has an entire book.
Step 4 – Lead Capture Pages
It’s now time to start creating your lead capture pages. In case you don’t know, a lead capture page is a web page that offers the visitor something of value in exchange for the visitor’s name and email address. Why is this so important? Because 95 – 99.9% of the people who visit a web page will not make a purchase or sign up into mlm business.
If you are offering your visitors something of value though, there will be a good percentage of them give you their name and email address in exchange. This then gives you the extremely powerful benefit of being able to follow-up with these people and build a relationship with them. After building a relationship with them, they will be much more likely to join your business or purchase other valuable products that you introduce them to occasionally.
I personally create most of my lead capture pages myself using a free html editor called Nvu. You can create web pages using a WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) interface that’s kind of like using a word processor so you won’t actually have to know html programming to use it. If you are absolutely convinced that you won’t be able to create your own lead capture pages using Nvu or another html editor, then I recommend you check out a site called Instant Squeeze Page Generator. With ISPG, you can create a FREE account that will allow you build your lead capture pages using templates and a step by step process which makes it very easy for almost anyone to do.
You’re probably wondering what your lead capture pages should look like and what they should say. Well, I can’t teach you a copy-writing course here so my best advice is to study the lead capture pages of others as you come across them. Really look at them closely and ask yourself what about the page appeals to you and what doesn’t. After doing this for even just a short period of time, you will soon have an understanding of what makes a good lead capture page.
Step 5 – Setup Your Auto-responder
Before you can start promoting and sending traffic to your lead capture pages you need what is probably the most important marketing tool that was ever created. I’m talking about an auto-responder.
An auto-responder is software that takes the information that your visitors enter on your lead capture page and stores it in a database. It also allows you to create a series of follow-up messages that will be emailed automatically to the people in the database on a predetermined schedule that you create as you create your follow-up messages.
As I said earlier, this allows you to build a relationship with the people on your mailing list which will increase the chances of someone doing business with you.
What do you put in the follow-up messages that will go out to your list. The best thing to do is include valuable content that you think might be beneficial to your prospects. Don’t use your follow-up messages to try and convince someone to join your business opportunity. You do not want to be a salesman, you want to be a friend and a mentor. You want to be someone who is truly concerned about helping others and not someone who is just trying to make a buck.
It’s OK to occasionally send out a message to your list recommending a product that you might make an affiliate commission on; but, make sure it’s a great product that will truly be beneficial to the members of your autoresponder list. This is what actually monetizes your list and creates the “sales funnel” that is so important to the system. The sales funnel is what allows you to make money from the large percentage of people who are going to say no to your primary offer. But let me reiterate, you must offer only QUALITY products that you KNOW will be beneficial in helping the members of your list achieve their goals.

I would never have recommended that product to you if I hadn’t purchased the product myself and truly believed that it provides you with information that is key to your success. Please make helping other marketers a permanent part of your mindset right now and never forget it!
Like most internet marketing products, there are many choices when it comes to auto-responder services. I would recommend using either Aweber or Get Response. I personally use Aweber but I believe both companies provide excellent services at competitive prices.
So go to either Aweber or Get Response right now and sign up starter service which should be all you need until your list starts to grow. You should be able to get started for about $20 per month.
Step 6 – Connecting Your Auto-responder and Lead Capture Pages
Now you need to integrate your auto-responder service with your lead capture pages. This is basically entering some HTML code generated by the auto-responder service into the code on your lead capture page so the information that someone submits on your lead capture page is sent to your auto-responder service.
I’m not going to explain the process because the auto-responder companies have tutorials that explain how to do it. If you’re using Instant Squeeze Page Generator to create your lead capture pages, I believe they also provide an explanation of how to get the right code into your page.
Step 7 – Marketing and Promotion
Now that all the technical aspects of the system have been completed, it’s time for the fun to begin. It’s time to start promoting your lead capture pages and start making some money.
There are literally dozens of ways to promote your lead capture pages so I’m not going to even attempt to include them all here. I will try to cover more of them in my blog posts.
My favorite form of promotion is a combination of blogging and article writing. The two really go hand in hand together and when done correctly can generate large amounts of traffic and potential prospects to your blog.
The simplest way for me to teach you what you need to know is to provide you with the exact same information that I used to learn this technique.

Well that’s pretty much it. The thing to remember is the whole system revolves around you building relationships with your prospects. If you don’t learn anything else, I hope you at least learn that.
I know that some of you will be overwhelmed by the process of creating your own marketing system and feel that you just simply cannot do it. For this reason I did a tremendous amount of research on a lot of the “turnkey marketing systems” all over the internet.
The vast majority of these systems or worthless and just a waste of money. I did, however, find one system that stood out above the rest. The main thing that set this system apart from the rest was the ability it provides to customize many parts of the system.
